What is SEVIS?

SEVIS (Student & Exchange Visitor Information System) is a United States Government computerized system that collects and manages your data as a participant in the J1 Work & Travel Program.  It is maintained by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Bureau and designed to help foreign visitors follow the terms of their visas.  All participants on the Work and Travel Program are required to register their whereabouts electronically through SEVIS.  If students fail to comply they will be terminated from the program.
